Prof. Ing. Miroslava Kačániová, PhD., who works in Laboratory of microbiology at the Agrobiotech Research Center, was part of a series of short documentary films presented by SLOVAK CENTRE OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Prof. Kačániová works as a university lecturer at the Department of Fruit Science, Viticulture and Enology, Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.

Her research activities are focused on microbiological analysis of foodstuffs, on the effect of biologically active substances and natural substances with focus on the mechanisms of action of these substances on the digestive system of animals in vivo and in vitro conditions. She is also involved in research of antimicrobial resistance of food-isolated bacteria and the antimicrobial activity of natural substances against various types of microorganisms.

She has received several awards for her work, including the Personality of Science and Technology award from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Slovak Republic for 2019. http://vedanadosah.cvtisr.sk/
