Scientific and Research Activities of the Laboratory
- Homogenization of various plant tissues
- Implementation and optimization of isolations of nucleic acids (DNA, RNA, miRNA) and proteins from various types of tissues and plant materials.Verification of the functionality of the isolated nucleic acids using PCR.
- Determination of inter-varietal and interspecies polymorphism of plant samples using marker techniques (RFLP, PBA, iPBS, CDDP, BBAP, PBAP). Study of the population molecular characteristics of plant species.
- Preparation of samples for sequencing (amplification of the selected region and subsequent purification) with a focus on DNA fingerprinting and species differentiation.
- Electrophoretic separation of sample amplicons on agarose (AGE) or polyacrylamide (PAGE) gels and subsequent visualization of the amplified regions using a gel documentation system.
