The representatives of the French Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC), visited the AgroBioTech Research Center of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra in July, 24-25th 2019 and with the director Ing. Lucia Gabríny, PhD. discussed the cooperation in the field of research.

The UTC, was represented by the professor Claire Rossi and assistant professor Aude Falcimaigne-Cordin from the Department of Biology as well as by Gabriela de Saint-Denis Associate Director for International Relations.

At the level of research cooperation, the representatives of UTC, discussed with the researchers of ABT RC the possibilities of common research and cooperation within the research projects. The ABT RC found the overlapping research opportunities in the field of biotechnologies, molecular biology, development, design and innovation of new food products with the added value and in the field of increase of nutrition profile of food products enriched with the biologically active compounds with the aim to keep their phytoterapeutic effect.

The discussion among the two institutions, continued in the field of cooperation at the educational level via exchange of students of Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. Faculty of Engineering represented by the Vice-Dean for Foreign Relations, International Research and Educational Programmes: Ing. Katarína Kollárová, PhD. and Vice-Dean for Education: doc. Ing. Ján Kosiba, PhD. and Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences represented by Vice-dean for Science, Research and Foreign Relations: prof. Ing. Adriana Kolesárová, PhD., presented the possibilities of studies and practical placement for UTC students and vice-versa. Among the institutions, the Inter-institutional agreement Erasmus+ was signed.

Subsequently, the ABT RC and UTC agreed on preparation of two joint research projects, out of which, one will be prepared in cooperation with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences. The next step will be the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding.
